Chapter Two: Unknown Waves and Strange Shadows
The air stung the crew's faces as if the sea itself were warning them.
The sky was no longer familiar; three pale orbs of light reflected on the glowing waves, and the fog writhed around the ship like transparent snakes.
Maro didn't stop complaining:
"Captain... why do I feel like we've entered a terrifying painting?!"
Izar raised his eyebrow, leaning on the railing, smiling a twisted smile:
"Maybe because it is a terrifying painting... and maybe because you always have a talent for turning any threat into a comedy. Thank you."
The crew began to approach the bow of the ship, looking at the glowing lines underwater.
The fish here... were not fish.
Their bodies were transparent, their eyes glowing green, moving with astonishing speed, as if watching the crew's every step.
Maro's hand trembled as he grabbed him:
"These... these are sea creatures, but they are... unreal!"
Izar looked at the water with a half-crazed smile:
"Maro... anything unreal can be very dangerous. Remember this, and you might live to tell the tale."
Suddenly, the ship's deck trembled.
A long shadow was moving just a few meters away.
No one knew what it was... but the crew felt a deep fear they hadn't known since the first battle.
Izar raised his sword and said with a mix of seriousness and sarcasm:
"Welcome... it seems someone wants to play with us before lunch. Good, I like this kind of visitor."
At that moment, a half-submerged body appeared in the water; it wasn't human, nor an ordinary sea creature.
It had two long arms, a partially glowing blue body, and a wide mouth opening and closing without a sound.
Maro backed away quickly, tripping over the barrels:
"Captain... this isn't funny! It... it wants us!"
Izar reached out to catch him before he fell:
"Relax, Maro... sometimes stupidity is the best shield against terror."
Then, a faint laugh came from afar.
It was the witch he had seen in the first chapter, standing on the ghost ship, watching them.
A half-disfigured smile on her face, her red eyes glowing in the light of the strange sea.
Izar turned to the crew, saying in a tone mixed with cunning and mockery:
"Well... it seems we aren't alone yet. Get ready, you foolish sailors... we are going to face the first challenges of this strange world."
Maro felt a shiver... but he smiled in a funny way:
"Captain... why does that creature always look like it belongs in a comedy horror movie?"
Izar smiled a half-crazed smile, and answered:
"Simply because... that's our way of life. We survive in unexpected ways, and we laugh in the face of death."
The creature drew closer, the deck shook, and the ropes screamed under their feet.
Izar cast a quick glance toward the ghost ship:
"Hello there... do you want to help, or do you want to see who is the most cunning among us?"
The witch laughed again, while the creature approached, the crew screamed, and Izar smiled.
Chaos... mystery... laughter... and terror... everything blended together in a single moment, a true beginning to an adventure that had not yet ended, but grew deeper with every wave in this strange sea.
The creature drew closer, its long arms writhing on the water's surface, reflecting the gleam of the strange sea lines, as if breathing under the blue light.
The crew screamed, running here and there, grabbing ropes and securing weapons, but Izar remained standing firmly, watching with sharp eyes mixed with cunning:
"Don't focus on the monster's size... focus on its trick. And every one of you has a role... even if your role, Maro, is to trip and make everyone laugh!"
Maro didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he realized the captain was right... something in his reckless and strange behavior attracted luck in illogical ways.
The creature drew closer... and tried to grab the ship "The Blade of Dusk" with its glowing appendages.
Izar waved his sword, then jumped onto the edge of the ship, waving his hand comically, as if performing a naval dance:
"Hey! Come here, monster... let's see if you prefer fighting or dancing!"
The faint laughter of the crew mixed with the screams, and the creature paused for a moment, as if confused by the captain's reckless behavior.
Here, one of the brave men, named Crash, appeared and tried to fire a projectile at the monster, but it bounced back for no apparent reason, as if the sea itself refused to harm the creature.
Suddenly, the witch on the ghost ship fired a blue-green light, its beam extending toward the deck of "The Blade of Dusk."
The wave suddenly rose, the crew almost falling, but Izar took advantage of the situation, swinging from rope to rope, shouting:
"Look... even the waves help me sometimes... or try to make us dance better!"
Maro fell into the water this time, but the strange waves lifted him as if he were carried on a cushion.
Izar quickly reached out, grabbed him, and shouted in a half-serious, half-comical voice:
"You make staying alive much more fun, Maro!"
The creature drew closer... this time much deeper, and tried to lift the ship, but the lines of light underwater began to move, as if the sea itself were deciding who lives and who doesn't.
Izar didn't move quickly; instead, he stood relaxed, contemplating the creature, then smiled a deep smile:
"Cunning, monster... cunning is often stronger than muscles. Come on, let's see if I'm smarter than you!"
Suddenly, the tall shadow on the ghost ship moved slowly, waving its ancient staff.
The air filled with a strange stillness... as if the whole world stopped for a single moment.
Then the witch whispered in a strange voice:
"The cycle has begun... and the real game hasn't started yet. Choose, captain... survival or doom."
Izar nodded, waving his sword:
"I won't choose... I'll make my own path. And as you can see... even if we fall, we will fall in a fun way."
Maro couldn't stop himself from laughing, despite the dread:
"Captain... you're crazy!"
Izar turned to him with shining eyes:
"Maybe... but the crazy ones often survive the cursed."
The night continued, the ghost ship drawing closer, the creature roaring soundlessly, the waves shimmering, and the three stars spinning above their heads as if watching every move.
The crew was now fully aware... that this world knew no mercy, and every miscalculated step could be their last.
But Izar Volk, with his comical smile and twisted cunning, knew he would get out of this chaos... in a way no one could ever imagine.
And so, the real adventure began in a strange world, where witches, ghost ships, curses, and sea creatures were no longer just stories... but a living reality challenging anyone who dared to face it.
The sea creature drew closer, its massive body gleaming blue, its long arms stretching around the ship as if to devour it all at once.
The crew screamed and ran here and there, but they were starting to get used to Izar's strange style, where cunning preceded panic and comedy broke through the terror.
Izar stood at the edge of the ship, waving his sword as if trying to "greet the monster":
"Welcome, giant! It seems you haven't read the rules of the game... they are simple: either you kill me, or I show you who is the most cunning in the ocean!"
Maro stammered, holding onto a rope:
"Captain... are you telling the monster to play with you?!"
Izar nodded with a twisted smile:
"Sometimes, Maro... strange rules keep you alive. Watch and learn."
Suddenly, the witch on the ghost ship intervened.
She raised her ancient staff and fired a green beam toward the creature... but instead of attacking, the light seemed to guide the monster away from The Blade of Dusk.
The crew relaxed a little, but Izar raised his eyebrow, saying:
"Welcome, Madam Witch... are you helping us or testing us?"
The witch laughed, her voice half-comical and half-terrifying:
"Captain... if you know the meaning of the word cunning, you might escape. If not, you will be the game's first victim."
The creature moved away slightly, but the lines of light in the water began to writhe more, as if the sea itself were reacting to the piece of the cursed treasure Izar carried.
Maro, having stopped screaming for a moment, said:
"Captain... you know... everything here seems comical and terrible at the same time!"
Izar smiled a half-crazed smile:
"That is the secret to survival, Maro... laughing in the face of death keeps us alive... and our cunning makes us smarter than any curse."
Then came another test... the lines of light in the sea suddenly rose, surrounding the ship.
The first wave was normal... but the second was stronger... and the third was higher than the ship itself.
The crew screamed, the ropes shook, and the ship trembled under their feet, but Izar navigated between the ropes, chuckling lightly:
"Well... looks like we're getting free lessons in riding strange waves. Let's begin!"
Maro slipped again, but this time he got closer to the glowing surface of the sea, where an illusion of a half-human, half-fish figure appeared, watching them silently.
Izar looked at it and said:
"Welcome... it seems you're the type who likes dramatic scenes. Don't worry... you'll learn with us."
Then the ghost ship rose slightly higher, the long shadow of the witch waved again, and the three-lit sky began to spin around them faster, as if the whole world wanted to test Izar's intelligence, wit, and cunning.
Izar looked at the crew and said:
"Well... it seems we've started a big game, men. Every step here has a price... but we will get out of this strange world... in an unexpected way... just like we always do."
Maro smiled despite the fear:
"Captain... you know... I don't want to laugh right now... but I can't stop!"
Izar looked at him with a half-crazed smile:
"And that is exactly the pirate spirit, Maro... terror and laughter come together, and survival belongs to those who know how to play smartly."
Suddenly, the massive waves began to writhe as if trying to drag the ship into unknown depths.
The crew screamed, the creature roared soundlessly, the ghost ship moved mysteriously...
But Izar, with his sarcastic smile and strange cunning, said:
"Welcome to a world unseen by human eyes... the world of the cursed treasure... and welcome to our true adventure!"
